The new SD Card was fitted today - and all OK. I am left wondering if deleting and creating a new profile in is the cause of my SD Card problems but this could just be a coincidence. Whilst the SD Card was still in my PC the Mazda Toolbox indicated a new map update was available and it was after this update was completed that the SD Card mysteriously stopped working. I did this and when I inserted the SD Card into my PC (using the Mazda Toolbox application) it was correctly registered with my new profile. I contacted Mazda customer services and was told that should have removed the old car when I asked, but offered an alternative of deleting my profile and starting again with a new profile. I contacted to ask for the old car's details to be removed - they responded by telling me to contact Mazda customer services. After six months had passed by and the old car hadn't vanished from my profile I was becoming concerned this could become a future problem for me, or the new owner of my old car. At the moment there isn't a way for a customer to delete an old car / sat nav from their profile. When I traded in my 14 Reg Mazda 3 SE-L Nav for an 18 Reg Mazda 3 SE-L Nav I used the Mazda Toolbox app with a new SD Card and this meant that I had two Sat Navs in my account. Like many Mazda owners I registered for an account with and also used the Mazda Toolbox Application to keep the SD Card updated. What I didn't say when I started this thread is that this problem came on the back of resolving another related problem. I'll post back to this thread when I get an answer. I've chosen to write to Mazda UK and I'm now waiting for their answer. Sadly it wasn't as simple as that and the options given to me were to pay around £500 for a new SD Card or contact Mazda UK to ask for help. I had hoped that they would be able to just load the required data back on to the card and the problem would be solved. They confirmed the required data/software is no longer on the SD Card and that is why it doesn't work. Yesterday I took my car to my helpful and friendly Mazda dealer. This isn't the 8GB problem that other people have run into with older SD cards, the card's size is 16GB. In the past I had successfully updated the same SD card in the same PC and so I didn't expect to run into a problem. I've booked my car in to a dealer to have the issue looked at, but just wondered if there was a simple fix for this to save time. Although the space used indication for the card shows that a lot of the space is used and so I presume that files are there but just not visible to Windows Explorer. This shows just one folder with no files in it. If I use Windows File Explorer I can browse into the SD Card. Next day the car wouldn't recognise it as a valid Mazda SD card, and now the Mazda Toolbox application on the PC won't recognise it as a valid Mazda SD card. Before removing the SD Card from my PC I even ensured that the PC had given the safe to remove message. Earlier this week I used the Mazda Toolbox application successfully (or so I thought) to update the Sat Nav SD Card from my 18 plate Mazda 3.
